LILI-128

LILI-128 is a keystream generator designed by the Information Security Research Centre for submission to NESSIE.

The aims of the NESSIE (New European Schemes for Signatures, Integrity, and Encryption) project are to put together a range of strong cryptographic primitives and to contribute to the final phase of the AES block cipher standardisation process.

The LILI-128 keystream generator is a LFSR based synchronous stream cipher with a 128 bit key. The design offers large period and linear complexity, and is resistant to currently known styles of attack. LILI-128 is simple to implement in hardware or software.

LILI-128 has been submitted and accepted as one of the six NESSIE synchronous stream cipher candidates.

On 13 November 2000, LILI-128 was presented at the NESSIE Workshop.
